The Role

As a Lifting Instructor, you will lead the delivery of OPITO and LEEA courses, such as Rigger, Banksman, Rigging and Slinging and a range of Lift Planning courses. This dynamic role combines classroom theory, practical simulations and real-world scenario training to equip delegates with essential skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive training programs.
  • Facilitate practical exercises.
  • Assess delegate performance, provide constructive feedback, and issue certifications.
  • Maintain and operate training equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Contribute to quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement of training delivery.

Requirements

Essential:

  • 10 years + in lifting operations at a senior or supervisory level. 
  • Hold a valid LEEA Appointed Person or OPITO LOLER CP Qualification.
  • Currently or previously held OPITO Rigger and/or Banksman Stage 3 Competence Assessment Qualifications.
  • Instructional qualifications (e.g., Train the Trainer, Assessor awards like A1/V1); training can be provided for candidates not holding formal qualifications but with previous experience in training. 
  • Strong knowledge of offshore safety regulations
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage groups in high-stress simulations.
  • Physical fitness
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and travel internationally.

Desirable:

  • Multilingual skills, such as English, Hindi, Urdu or Malayalam.
