The Role

As a Lifting Instructor, you will lead the delivery of OPITO and LEEA courses, such as Rigger, Banksman, Rigging and Slinging and a range of Lift Planning courses. This dynamic role combines classroom theory, practical simulations and real-world scenario training to equip delegates with essential skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive training programs.
• Facilitate practical exercises.
• Assess delegate performance, provide constructive feedback, and issue certifications.
• Maintain and operate training equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Contribute to quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement of training delivery.

Requirements

Essential:

• 10 years + in lifting operations at a senior or supervisory level. 
• Hold a valid LEEA Appointed Person or OPITO LOLER CP Qualification.
• Currently or previously held OPITO Rigger and/or Banksman Stage 3 Competence Assessment Qualifications.
• Instructional qualifications (e.g., Train the Trainer, Assessor awards like A1/V1); training can be provided for candidates not holding formal qualifications but with previous experience in training. 
• Strong knowledge of offshore safety regulations
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage groups in high-stress simulations.
• Physical fitness
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and travel internationally.

Desirable:

• Multilingual skills, such as English, Hindi, Urdu or Malayalam.

As a BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) Instructor, you will lead the delivery of OPITO-approved BOSIET courses, including HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training), sea survival, fire fighting, and first aid modules. This dynamic role combines classroom theory, practical simulations in pools and fire grounds, and real-world scenario training to equip delegates with essential survival skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive BOSIET training programs, covering topics like offshore hazards, emergency response, and escape techniques.
• Facilitate practical exercises, including HUET drills, lifeboat operations, and firefighting simulations.
• Assess delegate performance, provide constructive feedback, and issue OPITO certifications.
• Maintain and operate training equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Conduct refresher courses (e.g., FOET) and support custom training for clients.
• Travel to offshore simulation centres or client locations as needed (up to 40% travel).
• Contribute to quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement of training delivery.

Requirements

Essential:

• Instructional qualifications (e.g., Train the Trainer, Assessor awards like A1/V1).
• Strong knowledge of offshore safety regulations (e.g., OPITO standards, SOLAS, IMO).
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage groups in high-stress simulations.
• Physical fitness to demonstrate HUET and survival exercises
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and travel internationally.
• For ex-service personnel, all training will be provided. 

Desirable:

• Multilingual skills, such as English, Hindi, Urdu or Malayalam.
