JOB TITLE: Rigging Chargehand (Offshore)

NATIONALITY: Indian. Limited by Visa quota
ABOUT COMPANY: Large oil & gas company (Qatar)
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 year offshore oil and gas experience and a minimum of 5 years rigging and lifting in oil and gas and 3 years of GCC Experience.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Elementary school pass and Higher schooling certificate or diploma, Must have to hold OPITO TBOSIET, OPITO H2S, OPITO RIGGER STAGE 1. These are essential and candidates without these qualifications will not be considered.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Should have good command in English
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Main Role: To assist Campaign Supervisor in all aspects of managing day to day Rigger/lifting activities on site and works in line with approved procedures and guidelines
Purpose / Role
To Lead a team of competent rigging personnel in the safe execution of lifting activities in accordance with Corporate HSSE procedures and specifications
Key Aims and Objectives
To ensure all that all lifting operations are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, physical assets or the environment
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement all applicable company/project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that all lifting activities are completed safely and efficiently and within the boundaries of the approved lifting plan and safe system of work (ISSOW)
- Accountable for Safety and implementing Standards
- Review all lift plans to ensure that they are appropriate for the lifting operation in hand, the correct approval and authorisation process has been followed, and that the prescribed risk controls measures are in place
- Ensure that the lifting equipment selected for the lifting operation has been subjected to the required pre- use visual integrity inspection and confirm it is fit for purpose
- Ensure that all lift team members have the necessary competence for performing their roles, are aware of the procedures to be followed, and their specific responsibilities in the safe execution of the lift
- Brief all personnel involved with or affected by the performance of the lifting operation (Tool box talk).
- Monitor the performance of personnel involved in the lifting operations to ensure that adequate standards of performance are maintained
- Make allowance for any concurrent or simultaneous operations that may affect or be affected by the lift, e.g. helicopter operations, other cranes etc.
- Support the development of a suitable and competent work force capable of the safe execution of lifting operations, particularly Stage 1 & 2 trainee riggers.
SKILLS TESTING: English language to a level that satisfies the standards of the Safety English Test (SET). Trade / Skills Test prior to mobilisation.
FINANCIAL PACKAGE: 293 QAR a day. Short-term project (6 months)
MOBILISATION DATE: 2nd week of October
